snorkel fun

We went snorkeling for our Anniversary back in August (and yes, I'm just now getting to posting these pictures). We went down to Key Largo to the coral reefs. It was amazing, unlike anything I'd ever experienced. Great job Mike for coming up with the idea and surprising me!

This is me trying to figure out how to use the mask and snorkel. I had a pretty hard time and swallowed a ton of saltwater. Blegh!
The coral reefs were so pretty. It was amazing to see so much life in the ocean.
We actually did get someone to take a picture of us under the water.

I'm not sure what the story behind this is, but there is a statue of Christ at the bottom of the ocean, so we swam over and were able to see it

Our little Anabear

Here's the little bear costume I made for Anabelle's Halloween costume. It was quite the project. I made everything except for the slippers (which were the inspiration).

Isn't she the cutest little bear ever!

She only wore the costume into Mike's work so we could show everyone and to our ward trunk-or-treat. It was quite the hit, especially when we can get her to growl, too.

Sorry I'm so lame

Seriously, there's no excuse for how lazy I have been with blogging lately. I'm sorry.

Anabelle and my visit out to Utah for Tom's wedding was a lot of fun. We had a great time. Thanks everyone. Once again, I was lazy about picture taking, so I didn't get a whole lot while I was there, but here's a few.

Mike's parents visited us last week, and it was great to have them here. Thanks for coming Kirt and Annette! One night, Annette was making clicking sounds with her tongue at Anabelle and she was trying to do it back. We recorded her cuz it was so funny. Then we showed her the video we recorded and she continued trying to "click" her tongue (or just make the same noise). Gotta love her!


We also took a trip to the Beach, which was a lot of fun. Anabelle crashed after a little while, as you can see :) We went snorkeling, swimming, and walked up and down the sand. Beautiful day!

Lake Kissimmee

We went on a two-night camping trip at Lake Kissimmee State Park this weekend. It was a lot of fun, but we got a huge storm on Friday night that dumped 1.4" in about an hour and a half. We found out that the tent we bought last week wasn't very good, and the water was coming in through the seams. We had to use all of our dirty clothes to soak up the water that was getting in.

Other than that we had a lot of fun fishing, hiking, and relaxing. Anabelle did really well for the most part, even in the very loud thunder storm that night. Here are some pics. We saw a lot of cool things like armadillos, wild turkeys, deer (one came right through our camp with its fawn), and some gators (of course).

This guy was literally about two feet away from me scrounging for bugs. They're a lot quicker than I previously thought. Never got him to roll up in a ball though.
This is Sarah's spotted sunfish. She did catch two bass that were bigger than this fish, but this was the only one of these we caught.

My largest catch. About 15" and 3 lbs.
I'm not sure if Anabelle really appreciates camping as much as we do.

Craft Project

Last week my friend Carrie and I decided to work on a sewing project because I have been dying to make these cute baby booties. They turned out very well, considering I have a very slight sewing background. They fit Anabelle well, and I am excited to make some other pairs for her in other colors. Aren't they cute!

Dog shirts??

One of our friends gave us this shirt for Arcee last week because they were just going to throw it away otherwise. Neither of us like or even approve of putting clothing on dogs, but while Mike was gone one night I decided I just had to put it on her and take a picture. Pretty funny looking if you ask me, and Arcee hated it!
